High-performance M3 series

As consumer electronics and other industries continue to upgrade, product functions are becoming increasingly advanced, driving higher performance demands on MCUs. For example, EV charging stations in new energy applications require MCUs with CAN interfaces, while applications such as e-cigarettes and sensors require large-capacity RAM and Flash memory.

MG32F10x series
The MG32F10x series is a Cortex-M3 series product launched by Megawin Technology in 2021. This series has the advantages of high performance and strong hardware and software compatibility.

The following table shows the differences in hardware resources between the MG32F10x series and the SxxxxF10x series from other manufacturers.

<Note> Flash Access Wait Cycles: When the MCU executes instructions or accesses variables stored in Flash, wait cycles are required. The longer the wait cycles, the lower the actual runtime efficiency.


The MG32F10x series still offers several advantages, such as an integrated LED driver and low operating power consumption. In addition, the MG32F10x series features a cache that enables zero-wait time for flash access. The shorter the wait time, the higher the program execution efficiency. As a result, even with the same clock frequency as the SxxxxF103 series, the MG32F10x can run programs faster in actual operation.


The pin positions and functions of the MG32F10x series are mutually compatible with those of the SxxxxF103, so replacement can be done quickly.
 
MG32F10x series
Megawin Technology also offers the MG32F157 series, the flagship product in its M3 lineup, featuring more advanced specifications than the MG32F10x series. It includes a CAN interface, 3-channels ADC, and an OPA, making it highly suitable for EV charging station applications. In addition, the MG32F157 series now supports the uCOS-III real-time operating system, making software development for complex applications more efficient and convenient.

Taking EV charging stations as an example

The MG32F157 series microcontroller is an ideal choice for electric vehicle (EV) charging station applications. Its built-in CAN 2.0B interface enables efficient and reliable communication with EVs. CAN is widely used in automotive electronic systems, such as engine management, body control (including doors, sunroofs, air conditioning, and lighting), in-vehicle infotainment systems, as well as in EV charging stations and their infrastructure, marine systems, industrial control, and robotics.
The advantages of CAN Bus include
● High data sharing capability, which reduces the processing load caused by redundant data handling;
● Excellent noise immunity, making it especially suitable for applications in complex electromagnetic environments;
● Simplified wiring design, helping to lower overall system costs and reduce maintenance complexity.

In addition, the MG32F157 series integrates LIN Bus and SMBus communication interfaces, providing a more flexible and cost-effective communication solution for multi-module systems. This helps build a more stable and reliable EV charging control system.
 
Equipped with three ADCs and two DACs, the MG32F157 series can monitor key parameters such as battery status, charging current, and voltage in real time, ensuring precise control during the charging process. At the same time, the MCU offers powerful data processing capabilities and real-time performance, enabling continuous tracking of the charging status and efficient management of the charging control process—further enhancing the system’s safety and reliability.
