Demand for Handheld Turbo-Fan Growing Steadily

As global temperatures rise, consumers seek compact, efficient and stylish handheld fans to keep them cool in a variety of environments. Their portability also makes these fans ideal for outdoor activities, commuting or escaping the heat. According to the report of Business Research Insights, the global personal portable fan market size is estimated to be USD 550 million in 2024, expanding to USD 1.06 billion by 2033, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.56% over the forecast period of 2025-2033.

Portable fan has the requirements of high speed and long battery life in terms of functionality. Meagwin Technology has launched the handheld turbo-fan solution based on its MDF101A chip, which adopts brushless motor technology, and has the advantages of low noise, long life, and high wind power compared with the traditional brushed motor. The control method adopts sensorless square-wave control strategy, which can reach up to 130,000 rpm, and integrates multiple amplifiers and comparators to greatly simplify the design of peripheral circuits, reduce external interference, and achieves high efficiency simultaneously. Suitable for equipment cooling, electronic cleaning, barbecue combustion, hair drying and other scenes to meet market demand with high reliability and practicality.

Key features of the Turbo Fan solution:
1) High-performance RPM output: 
    The customized brushless motor and MDF101A chip are controlled in tandem to achieve a stable speed of up to 130,000 rpm and a wind strength of 52m/s, which meets the needs of high-intensity heat dissipation and airflow cleaning.
2) Sensorless Square Wave Control Technology:
   Based on the built-in comparator on the chip, real-time detection of back-EMF eliminates the need for Hall sensors, simplifies the hardware structure, reduces system costs, and improves interference resistance and motor life.
3) 4-speed intelligent speed adjustment + multiple safety protection: 
   - Supports one-touch switching between low, medium, high and ultra-high wind speeds, and supports the interaction of physical buttons and LED indicators to meet the needs of different scenarios.
   - Supports multiple protection mechanisms such as over-current, under-voltage, blocking, over-temperature, phase failure, etc. to ensure stable operation under complicated working conditions.  
   - Auto power off when no operation, reduce standby power consumption.

MDF101A MCU Key Resources
The MDF101A chip is a specialized MCU for motor control, and the main technical parameters are as follows:
●Core Architecture:Arm® Cortex®­-M0 32-bit MCU, operating up to 60MHz with hardware divider (32-bit) support.
●Motor control peripherals: Supports 3 PWM complementary outputs with adjustable dead time. Integrated high-speed comparator and a 12-bit ADC with a conversion rate of up to 1M SPS (11 input channels), realizing accurate back-EMF detection and current sampling.
Storage and Expansion: 32KB Flash + 4KB RAM, 3KB independent Flash space for program or data storage, supports UART, SPI, I²C communication interfaces, 2-channel DMA.
●Industrial-level Protection: 6KV ESD protection, meets industrial equipment anti-interference standards.
